🔒 Privacy Policy

Overview

Looping (听力池) is a fully offline, privacy-first English listening app. It has no user accounts, no login, and no servers of its own. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device.

Information We Collect

None. Looping does not collect or receive any personal information. Because the app has no backend server, there is nowhere for your data to be sent. We do not use analytics, advertising, or any third-party tracking services.

Your Content Stays on Your Device

Everything the app stores is kept locally, in the app's own storage on your device:

• Audio files you import
• Subtitles generated for them (and any edits you make)
• Cover images you set
• Your Focus selection, Listening Pool, and playback progress
• App settings and preferences

This data is only copied off your device if you use your own device backup (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup), which you control entirely.

On-Device Processing

Subtitle generation happens entirely on your device — the audio is never uploaded:

• Transcription: Audio you import is converted to text on your device using an on-device speech-recognition model. The audio does not leave your device.
• Translation: Subtitles are translated using Apple's on-device Translation framework. To do this, Apple may download language packs to your device the first time you use a language. The processing runs on your device; please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details about Apple's own services.

Motion Sensors

The Home screen shows a small "water" animation that tilts with your device. To do this the app reads your device's motion sensors in real time, only while that screen is visible. This information is used solely to draw the animation — it is never stored and never transmitted.

Files You Import

When you add material, you pick an audio file through the system file picker. Only the file you select is copied into the app. Looping does not scan, index, or access any other files on your device.

No Purchases or Ads

Looping is completely free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising.

Links to the App Store

The app may show a link to another app's page on Apple's App Store. Opening it launches Apple's App Store; anything you do there is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. Looping does not receive any information about your activity in the App Store.

Children's Privacy

Looping is suitable for users of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date above.
